Well he said thats how he had it hooked up so you are probably right about the controller, is that something he can do or does it need to go somewhere?

Not sure, Audree. I have left a message with TahoeDawgZ71 to check this thread. He is a CC tech and should know the REAL answer instead of my theories. He's not online right now, so ya gotta sit & spin for a while till he sees this thread. I don't want to lead you off on a path.....

If my theory is correct, the cart would need to go to an authorized CC dealer to have the speed setting restored to regular.

My husband wanted me to tell you that lastnight when he hooked the motor up, that it only went in reverse, even when it was in drive. Does that mean anything?

Yes, it tells me a lot... Here's what probably happened. And I hope you're sitting down when I tell you this.. The motor Buggies Unlimited sent you was built for a "Series" car.... hence the lack of speed sensor and the fact that the posts were labeled S instead of F.... Also, they may be true to their claim that the models with "Eliminated Regen" do not come with a speed sensor plug. This would be acceptable only in the situation that you had either a Regen 1 or Regen 2 system which work perfectly without a speed sensor hooked up, they just won't Regen.... Next, your system is obviously an IQ system because you said it was programmed from the dealer. Neither Regen system is programmable. The IQ system is highly dependent on the speed sensor for it to function. Without the speed sensor detected, the controller will default to 8 MPH and will never go any faster than that. Therefore neither one of these motors would be acceptable for your cart. You'd need one built specifically for the IQ system. A "Regen" system motor would work, but only IF it still had the speed sensor. Now, I'm a little unclear as to what happened exactly to make the car start to run in reverse, but not in forward. Was this with the "Wrong" motor? Or was this with another motor of the correct configuration? If it truly was an IQ motor or Regen w/speed sensor then you may be in trouble. Often when a motor controller fails in the IQ system, it will go slowly in reverse when put in the forward position. It's highly possible that when you installed the "Series" motor and tried to run the vehicle that you have caused internal damage to your controller and it will never work again. I'm sorry to break the bad news to you but it sure sounds like what is going on here. Please feel free to contact me if you need anything else.
