F/R help dead when switched have to wait

I think controller may be defective
pls tell me if I'm wrong
Drove car about five times so far around block after new rebuilt controller installed but when ever I switch from F/R or R/F I have to open seat and switch the to TOW wait 5 minutes switch to RUN then Car will go but if I switch F/R R/F it does it again and I have to repeat process.

Any ideas?

The FORUM need more info to help you with problem. Rather than wasting our time and yours giving guesses, PLEASE ALWAYS GIVE MAKE, MODEL, YEAR, PACK VOLTAGE WHEN ASKING FOR HELP, and if you dont know give COMPLETE serial number EXAMPLE ( Club Car Serial nujmbers are under passenger glove box on frame ). Sounds like you might have a regen-sepex cart BUT THAT IS A GUESS ALSO? PLEASE ADVISE needed info.

It's either a Regen 2 or an IQ. The earlier (96-97) Regen 1 cars did not have a Tow/Run switch. They went into "Tow" mode when keyswitch was turned off. But I agree completely.. I must know whether it's an IQ or a Regen2

CR if you can post the whole serial # from the cart they can answer their own question about your drive system....

It's a 2004 DS Electric with the IQ system. I agree with you, it sounds like a controller issue but this can only be confirmed for sure with the assistance of the IQDM machine that plugs into the diagnostic port. It's a possibility of a bad F&R Switch but I seriously doubt it. Are you near a dealer that could scan your system?
