Default Precedent '04 thru '07: Any "evolutionary" changes in that era?

After lots of failed searches and lots of general browsing, I've got to ask:

Did any big changes in electronics or mechanics happen in the 04 - 07 Precedent era, which would deserve serious consideration?
(Beyond known OBC / battery warranty work on the early ones... )

I see the i2 change happening in 08,,,, But prior to that, is the "IQ Plus?" system essentially the same on the '04 - '07 Precedents, or do you have to watch for something else?

thx for the fun,

Bob Gruber

I think they are bacically the same, the 08-09 models have easier access to the electronic components. The 08 model can be changed to 6-8volt batteries without any mods to the frame.

Check on TAHOEDAWGZ71 posts as he works on late models all the time and just answered about differences between DS and Precedents in some detail.

The "IQ PLUS" system was never available on the Precedent. IQ Plus was only offered on heavy duty Carryall and Transporter vehicles. The Precedent was equipped with the basic IQ system from 2004 until present. In 2008 the EXCEL system was also available. They have made both systems since. The main difference you'll see between an 04 and an 07 is a different version OBC and better front end bushings and spindles on the 07. Another issue although not a big deal is the plastic trim, it's treated with a UV protectant on the later model cars to prevent fading. This started in 2006.

Awesome detail. Thank you again Mr. Magician.

I've been trying hard to find a good cart with fresh batteries. Or something at a price that provides part of the room for replacements.

But during the last couple of weeks, it seems like Murphy has been riding aound on my shoulder like a **** Fairy Godmother.

We'll get something good done. I'm trying hard not to let my impatience mess me up.

thx again.
