Whats the best setup?

For a while now ive been wanting to upgrade my 36v 93 resistor style club car with a 3.5hp motor to 48v controller. im tired of having no power my entire cart is already wired in 4ga and am going with a 400 amp controller. . I know alot of people go with alltrax But i want to hear your opinions. And which style potentiometer is the most reliable The v-glide style or the MCOR?

I'm not entirely sure you can do the M-COR on that cart, if you can, it's far smoother than the V-Glide. Many here do the PB-6 instead of the V-Glide as that is the smoothest operation I believe is available for your cart.

As for controllers, I am partial to the GE for serious high amp applications. but for a 400 Amp application, I would stick with Alltrax.

I personally like ALLTRAX controllers because they stand behind their equipment better than some of the others, and also will work withn you to solve any minor problems which seldom happen. I also stick with ALLTRAX NON ADJUSTABLE units as I try and pick correct amp rating the first time and of course they are alot cheaper that way. EXAMPLE "SERIES MOTOR 400 AMP 5-0 pot" would be ALLTRAX #NPX4844 about $300.00 while ALLTRAX #AXE 4844 Programable about $420.00 this when I last checked a few months ago.
I personally like the Curtis PB-6 pot $80.00 and up depending on sourse even though it takes a little linkage tinkering to set up ( I HAVE PICTURES OF EASY AND GOOD CONNECTIONS ), BUT will connect directly to V Glide linkage. If you have a V Glide in PERFECT CONDITION you could add the required resistors for around $65.00, but you wont have a smooth flow of power and AGAIN because of low voltage your V Glide has to be in top notch condition? While MCOR in your cart would ( IF I REMEMBER CORRECT ON 1993 resistor cart ) you would have to change WHOLE PEDAL ASSEMBLY and linkage over to later model to convert to MCOR? I personally dont like the pot type metal used in linkage that wears down fast so you start loosing speed ( travel )? I had heard that CC supplier was going to upgrade the materials but haven't seen it so far?
What ever way you go be sure and tell parts supplier ( ONE OF OUR SPONSORS ) exactly what you want your cart to end up with for EXTRAS NOW or LATER ON. Putting lifts, large tires, rear seat, top, windshield, HD F&R switch, cables, possible motor changes ( your 36 volt motor is the best motor for 48 volt conversions already in your cart ) all effect total needs.
Good luck on your conversion as I know you will enjoy the major differences you will have even over a stock 48 volt cart.

So what kind of performance differences would i see with the non programmable alltrax compared to the programmable? (acceleration, response)
Or is the non programmable controller already at 100%?

there is no difference performance wise between the 2 other than a programmable setup allows you to customize the control to your style of driving/driving conditions.
