Default 48 Volt Charger Problem

I have a 48volt charger that comes on like it is suppose to but the amp meter goes all the way to 20. It normally goes around 15. It will stay on 20 for about a minute and then it will cut off due to the breaker tripping on the charger itself. I opened it up and dont see any wires or nothing touching. Has any of you ran into this before? Thanks in advance.

Check all your battery connections as well as the charge receptacle and plug

I will say that all the batteries were replace at the end of may. All connections are clean. The charger also has a brand new heat sink as well as a breaker in it. I installed the 2 weeks ago. It has worked since then though.

so its still kicking out the breaker? if it is the batteries are really low and you will have to keep ressetting it till the batteries come up to charge where it wont pop the breaker.Maybe you need to install a charge meter so you wont run the batteries down so far.

I'm with fixer on this... sounds like a weak spring in the circuit breaker. Cheap fix.

I have checked all of my batteries and they all read over 7 volts. I have a total of 47.1 volts all together. Are these batteries that low to cause the charger to max out and trip the breaker after about 45 seconds of charging? Thanks

No. They're that low because the charger can't finish the job because it's got a bad breaker in it.

47.1v is around 20% charged. Post up the individual battery voltages as you may have a bad battery.
And.......change the breaker.

I have installed a new breaker. Unfortunatley I have the same problem. All batteries have a little over 7 volts each in them. The charger will come on and run for about 45 seconds with the amp meter at 20 and then will trip the breaker. If you have any other suggestions.....please let me know Thanks.
