Is Club Car a Precedent or DS? Completely different body styles so dash is completly different?

i have the jeep body and it isn't a president, there's an o ring on the front of the ignition switch...but i guess i'll have to take the dash off to access the back end of the switch. not easy to get to...unless there's and easier way. but what should i look for as i'm disconnecting?

make sure you disconnect main power before doing anything cause if you ground that switch you will do more damage........................

The key switch should be held on by a nut on the outside of the dash but would still have to have the dash panel removed to pull it out once detached. There will be two wires on the key switch and one of them is HOT with 48 volts of DC power. Like Shadowman states place your unit in the tow position, remove your main negative lead from your battery pack and then remove the dash to access the key switch. Once you see it you'll be able to figure out how to remove it and exchange it for a new switch. You might want to look for a barrel style key switch sold at most motorcycle shops for around $22 which makes it much harder to have anyone use a random key to start your cart.

Scubabud, I am interested in your suggestion to use a barrel key from a motorcycle, will they handle 48 volts okay ? Thanks in advance. Pat.
