Default my cart got wet. need some advice

well i backed into the boat landing here where i live to clean off the tires. pressed the pedal to go forward and nothing. jumped out and flipped up the rear seat and find out the motor is 3/4 under water. batteries and controller never got wet. the cart is a 48v 98 carryall 6 passenger that is lifted. had to push it out. motor was in the water for probly 2 minutes tops. dont know what to do with it now? its still sitting there until i manage to go pull it home. what do i do? will it dry out and run?????

take it back to the house. let it dry. electric motors will run underwater i.e. well pumps etc.

check on your fuses etc. while it is drying.

Once it is dry and the fuses check out it should take right off.

I was watching ultimate car build off the other night and they drove a resistor cart right into a pool and semerged it and the motor was still running.

They sealed the v glide up real well though.

drying it out MAY solve the issue, unfortunately, the fact you tried to run it may also have fried the controller. If I remember right, you were planning an upgrade to this cart. This may be the catalyst to get that upgrade done sooner.

The motor was not a severe service motor.

Well pump motors are sealed in oil.
the bearings may be compromised.
