Default Precedent light kit - hard install?

Looking at getting an 06 Precedent. It doesn't currently have lights. The guy I intend to buy from doesn't use the light kit with the bar and bumper on the front and the 2 red lights in the back. Instead he uses rectangular fog lights mounted on the front and 2 red lights mounted to the rear seat bracket on the back. He says this is because it's much less expensive and that the usual kit requires removing the body and cutting. But I've checked some install instructions online and it doesn't appear to me that the rear lights are that hard to install at all. I don't mind getting my hands dirty and wouldn't mind having some projects on the new cart anyway. Can anyone comment from experience how hard the model specific light kits really are or aren't to install on the Precedent model? Perhaps there is more than 1 kit out there but it appears to me that the tail lights mount by drilling one, carefully measured, 1.5" hole on each side of the rear corners just above the underbody rather than requiring the body to be cut out for the entire size and shape of the lights.

Newbie needs some help please if you can. I'm planning on calling in the morning to tell him what I want and whether or not to put the lights in for me.

You are right on the taillights and I dont think the holes need to be over 3/4 inch, just enough to get the wires through. The taillights stick on with 3m double side tape. There are front light kits that use the origional mount over the front bumper instead of using those other lights on top if you want a more custom look.

Thanks, I want the light bar that is integrated with the bumper and the custom looking tail lights. What's the best place to get a deal on a kit? Does a kit with LED tail lights make a big difference with battery usage by the lights?

In other words, can someone tell me where to find a good price on a decent kit and is it a fairly easy install that doesn't require taking major parts of the cart apart and/or drilling or cutting any major holes? I've seen prices on ebay from $159 on up but it looks like the LED kits run a good bit more. Should I stay away from the ebay stuff or is some of it good?

The factory taillights on a precedent are LED and I am sure there are a bunch of sponsers on this website that would be more than glad to fix you up with a light kit.Stay away from e-bay on some of this stuff,on this site these folks will back up what they sell and instruct you on how to install if you run into problems.

No problem going with a site sponsor. Anyone have any recommendations on a specific kit or part number and a sponsor that might carry it?

He said it was not hard at all the install when i told him how good it looked but he went with the round halogens in front and rear due to he deer hunts and it nice to have some bright back up light to load or unload game and to see backing up at night but he mounted his under the rear fold down sit out of the way

There is a small line that runs down the back of the body where the inside of the tail light will sit. Measure 2.25" over, and 1.5" up and drill a hole with a 2" hole saw. Shave trimmings with razor blade and wipe clean with alcohol or acetone, fish wiring out with coat hanger and plug into taillights. Be sure not to push the ground prong out of the connector when plugging them in. Happens all the time... Stick the light on, then you're good to go.
