2002 36v cc new batteries but very slow

New to this website and my first post. I have a 2002 cc 36v model AB0209 ( I think it is a DS) v-glide w/ 5in lift purchased last month with very weak batteries. I installed 6 new Trojan batteries and also a new solenoid as the old one looked burned on one lead. In addition I cleaned the cables and used new nuts and washers at the resistor coils where it connects from the vglide. Charging the batteries took about 7 hours and when complete I checked the voltage across + on battery 1 and - on battery 6 ( measured 38.4 V w/ fluke meter). When I tried out the cart it was very slow, estimated 8-10 mph) and would barely go uphill on the paved road in front of my house. When I pulled into my yard and tried to go up a 15 deg incline it stopped. I let it roll back down and paralled the hill until I was back on flat ground. I know 36v's are not as powerful as 48v but shouldn't it have more power than this? Any suggestions on what I might have missed? Also since this is my first post let me know if I have done anything incorrectly in posting. Any feedback is appreciated.

Looks like your cart is a 1999.
Check your cables again, maybe consider replacing them.
A loose/corroded connection will cause this.
Check all connections from the batteries to the F-N-R switch to the motor.

I would double check all your wiring to the wiring diagram in the stickies. I have a 36 volt and it isn't setting land speed records but, it will make it up a hill

Make sure your V-Glide switch is going all the way up to the top contact when your pedal is on the floor, it sounds like you may not be getting full power.

i don,t know guys that sounds normal for new batts that arn,t broke in yet...............make sure your 1st 10 to 12 charge cycles you leave the cart on charger till it shuts off which will take up to 16 hours the 1st few times when they are broke in you will notice your speed come back if thats all thats wrong........after that its maintence.............i had a 36 volt that i put new batts in several years ago and you could walk faster than this cart but after 7 charge cycles it was uo to 14 mph which the lady said it was never that fast but anytime i change a set i notice a decrease in speed always............................

You mention a 5 inch lift...how big of a tire is on it? If it has a really big tire, you are going to lose all your torque which is what it sounds is happening. Let us know.

After reading TahoeDawgZ71 suggestion I looked at the v-glide switch and the wiper arm looks like it is stripped out of the screw at the pivot point. I will have to take the battery out to get a better look. Does any one know if these are replaceable or does the whold v-glide have to be replaced?

you can buy every part thats in the V-glide so no you don,t have to buy the whole unit.........try some of the site sponsers here it seems they have some really decent prices...................................

Tire size is Titan AT 23 x 10-12

Replaced with new v-glide and new solenoid since one of the posts were loose. Reinstalled batteries and turned the key and nothing happened when I stepped on the accelerator pedal. Must have a loose wire, defective solenoid, or hooked up something incorrectly. V-glide wiper arm moves when I step on the accelerator pedal through the mechanical linkage. Will update as I get time to troubleshoot.
