Default 1996 Club Car DS wheel / tire sounds

Hello all. I am new to the buggie world and just bought my first cart. I have decided to start cheap for my first project. 1996 Club Car DS 48v. The cart appears to have been rebuilt in '04. It's in great shape, needs new batteries and the bells and whistles. It has been sitting in a garage for two years. It came with the house but the couple could never get it running. I trickle charged the batteries and then the charger started working. Now that it's running, there seems to be a strange road noise or something. The cart seems to bounce a little and is not a very smooth ride. From the back it sounds like the tires are out of wack or something. Hard to explain. The tires appear to be in good shape with little use. Standing behind the cart it leans to the left a little. Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting? None of the tires were flat even though it had set for so long- BTW. Thanks. i have learned a ton already just from reading different posts. Doug

Depending on how log it sat, type of cords, and balance any of this can cause this. Nylon corded tires use to flat spot after road trip or sitting a while.

So, new wheels and tires? Curious if I should check the bearings. What to look for?

I would air the tires up to max listed on sidewall of tire and drive the cart and warm up the tires many times as they get a "SET" in tread. Its worse with nylon cord but all carts in warm climate have this problem. I live in deep south Texas and carts sit all summer in the heat and it takes weeks sometimes for them to get round again. Then if everything is ok drop back down to normal listed pressure on sidewaall.
The list to the left ( drivers side ) is normal as more often only one person is in cart and springs settle on that side. If real bad try turning front single leaf spring around and it will level off in a short time.

I think driving IS helping the problem. I live in North Texas and there is no problem getting the tires hot thats for sure. Thanks for the advice. I was getting worried about bigger problems.

As part of normal maintanace I would grease ( regular chassis grease and gun ) all points on steering ( tie rod ends ) 4 times a year, and check and repack wheel bearings once a year. 4 times a year lubricate with dry moly CC #1012151 brake shaft, cable linkage, accelerator linkage and shaft beaings.
For batterys go to STICKIES ABOVE AND READ ITEM "GOLF CART BATTERY MAINTENACE" and to test batterys go to "STATE OF CHARGE READINGS". To properly test batterys you need two items, a single float hydrometer with temparature correcting ( not a multi float antifreeze unit ) auto parts store $5.00 and then a digital volt meter ( Harbor Freight $5.00 ). Then a sourse of distilled water ( not tap water ) for topping off batterys.
Hope this helps.
