Got a deal....I think!
I bought a 1991 CC 36volt resistor cart, 09 batteries, no charger, cart is in good shape. Problem is I know nothing about resistor carts, the pack is completely dead and reads 36v, under load it drops to 34....so I don't know until I get a charger. Any advice. I paid $350, has lights, upgraded motor, rain curtains and a few other upgrades which I'll probably toss to make it the cart I want. I don't even know if this is considered a DS or not...probably not. What kind of charger am I looking for? Help please....I'm sure it will run once I get a charge, reverse buzzer comes on, lights come on, horn works, but it won't move?:help:

Re: Got a deal....I think!
IF you have a wiper board, check the contacts there.

The type of charger you will need is a 36 volt charger...DUH. Just kidding. The brand is up in the air. I have an older one from a 36 volt Milex. With the correct cord and end on it, it would charge the cart up fine PROVIDING the battery pack is in good condition. One bad battery in the pack is sort of like one bad apple in the barrel.

Fopr the money you gave for it and all the add ons...I would say god deal! There was someone in the last couple of days looking for an enclosure to buy. Maybe one of the MODs can help you find that post.

Good luck.

Re: Got a deal....I think!
with 36 volts the cart should move, are you getting a solenoid click? 1st thing is check the water level if needed distilled water only approx 1/4 inch over lead plates no more than get your cables in order clean connections at batts and make sure all are tight if your not sure abouit them put a new set on buy premium they arn,t that much............but jack the rear up and turn key on put in gear and step on pedal even with those batts if they have 36 volts with wheels off ground they should turn slow 1st listen for your solenoid to click............................................. ..8)

Re: Got a deal....I think!
I agree about I should get some movement or shuttering....nothing. No click, I've checked all batt. levels, all connections from coil to the triangular box(don't know what this called) and then those connections to to f/r lever. I aside from cleaning some debri off the connections...they all seem to be intact. I'll hit them with some WD and put a wrench on them to make sure and see if I can get this cart to make a "peep". Thanks and keep the info. coming. I'm trying to find a charger local that I can burrown or wrent to make sure this cart is not a dud. :help:

BRS You should be able to find a good used 36 volt charger in the "USED GOLF CARTS AND PARTS" at the bottom of page. If not check with one of our sponsors.

Re: Got a deal....I think!
Okay, borrowed a charger, charged all night...it shut normally. Cart started to move, then nothing. Opened the v-glide, contact on wiper melted completely off. All 8 contacts on glide look fine. Question, do I replace trhe whole assembly or just the contact. Arm which

main copper contact attaches to is also quite damaged. I'll post pics later.

Re: Got a deal....I think!
you can replace just the movable wiper arm you don,t need the whole unit, now if you find more damage depebing on what and how much damage it might not be a bad idea to replace the whole unit but as i said you can buy the parts to sdo so............................................8)

Re: Got a deal....I think!
Ordered the parts, less than $30 for arm and contact. In the meantime, found some old JB Weld in the drawer....and guess what...worked like a champ. I mudded up the conctact and arm, vice grips, let it sit all night...and (I know temporary solution) but darn if it didn't hold. Been driving the cart all day...no problems yet. I ran GPS'd it at 20mph. Again 91 CC 36volt resistor cart, I discoverd it does have a PQ motor which explains the speed, and stock tires. Hoping to find a deal on a charger now.

Re: Got a deal....I think!
Well that didn't take long. Entire V-glide up in smoke, all contacts damaged/melted. "Stupid is as stupid does". And that's me, now the whole thing needs to be replaced...oh well. Laught it up.:lhmo:
