Default Smashed rear on a rock

thought i had clearance goin down a trail,,guess not!!...smashed my rear on a rock and now im leakin gear oil.could it possibly have cracked??can i use degreaser to clean off the grim to see if its cracked??and how do u seperate the rear from the motor??im a newbie also

You should have only dammaged the pan unless it was a REALLY BIG rock.

Drain the oil, clean the pan and then take pictures of everything. If you don't give a little more info, you won't get much more help. I bet when all the oil and gunk is gone you will see exactly what is wrong, then you can get an idea of what it will cost.
