What's involved in converting it over and what's the advantage and any idea of the cost?

Re: '91 DS speed
You are dealing with an electric cart, there is no way to for it to be a cheap change over, but it can be done, what are you willing to spend for the speed you want to achieve? There are a couple of different things you can do, it just depends on how much you want to spend.

Re: '91 DS speed
I have a neighbor that has one of these with the old "square-back" body styles that was mentioned in another post, and he put 6 8-volts in it and changed plug for 48 volt charger and is running right under 20mph and drives it all-over Surfside and GCB! I asked him about upgraded cables etc, and he said all he did was change batteries. I am not saying it will work as I have never tried it. I feel sure there will be someone "far more learned than I" will be along shortly that can give you the pros and cons. IMO if you have any questions concerning this, PM Tahoe- Dog and he can help you. Hope this helps!
