Have you looked at diagrams for 1981-1985 Club Car in Stickies above? This will give you an idea how power is transmitted to solenoids. You should have 36 volts ( 6- 6 volt batterys connected in series ) to both sides of key switch when turned on ( I am assuming you have a stock 36 volt resistor cart that connects to a white box w/ red ends with 5 micros switches inside just below drivers seat mounted on top of frame ) from key switch power goes to micro switch on back of F&R control, then when F&R is placed either in forward or reverse then on to white box and from there to first solenoid ( nearest drivers side ) that feeds power to rest of solenoids ( first click ). The other solenoids are powered by the other micros inside white box when pedal is pressed down to various micros in a sequence to speed cart up by adding more power through resistors to motor.

I do have an resistor cart. I have 36 volts thru thr f&r switch. And I have 36 volts on my solenoids on both sides without doing anything. I dont know if that is right. All my wiring looks right compared to the diagrams. And mostly all new wires on cart except small wires. Thanks

It sounds as if you have a wiring problem because 36 volts on both sides of ( small leads ) should cause solenoid to click even if its not making internal contact? Lets try jumping the first solenoid ( drivers side ) large contacts with 6 guage wire after jacking up rear wheels install auto type stands and blocking front wheels so no motion possible and see if cart motor will turn. DO NOT REV MOTOR UP HIGH AS IT CAN BLOW ARMATURE RUINING MOTOR.

also check the microswitches..............sems odd that all solenoids would be bad i would look for either bad micros or bad wiring..............................

they will get warm but if they are getting hot like you have to let it go it might not be a bad idea to change them it could be they are just old and its resistance........................................ ........
