Default 99 club car

i recently picked a 99 club ds runs great just ordered jakes lift & wheels but have one prob on decel or coast a clicking noise sounds like a soleioid clicking could it be the regen ? switch to neutral while coasting the noise stops dont think its in rear diff any help before i spend a fortune thanks keith

Does your 1999 have a F&R rocker type switch below right leg on a black box, and if so yes it could be the regen solenoid clicking. You should find 2 solenoids, one with a resistor connected to it, the other is main for power the cart. Do you get the effect of brakes being applied lightly when this happens, because this would be normal.
The only other click I can think of would be the bushing between motor and input shaft in differential and you stated that it didnt sound like differential noise?

yes it feels like slight braking but is pretty loud and only happens on coast or decel noise goes away when switched to neutral and yes rocker switch behind right leg

When you switch to neutral it eliminates the regen function so thats what it sound like you are hearing. if so is a normal function.
