Default 2003 CC reverse trouble

Hello, washed my 2003 CC DS yesterday, and after I was done the cart wouldnt go into reverse. Figured I got one of the connections wet because after an hour, it started working again. It's a rocker type F/R lever on the kickplate by your right leg. Anyone have trouble like this before? Maybe the F/R lever is going bad, connections are dirty, or I did get it wet?
BTW, when in reverse, and the accelerator was pushed, you could a hear a click like it wanted to go into gear and move, it just wouldnt go anywhere for about an hour. Thoughts anyone....Thanks.

What you probably hear is the solenoid clicking, but sounds like you got water into the F&R rocker switch and caused it not to make contact? Here near ocean this happens alot and requires replacement of switch much more than normal as it gets corroded from salt water and wont make any contact, could this be the case for you near great lakes?

I figured it had something to do with wet contacts. Bought some contact cleaner as they were pretty dirty. Dusty roads at the campground reak havoc and have to clean the carts often. Gonna clean the contacts this weekend. Thanks for your reply.

Don't forget the dielectric grease on all connections. Saves a lot of headaches.
