99 Club Car acts like its not charging
Hi All,
I have a 99 model Club Car DS 36v and for the last year have had no problems out of it at all. The day before yesterday, I unplugged the charger to take it out for my usual spin around the neighborhood and got out of the driveway and it went about 100 yards, then acted like it was dying on me. We were able to push it back into the garage, and I put the charger back on and let it go overnite, until the charger cut off, like normal...my led battery level indicator shows that my batteries are fully charged (I know these are not 100% accurate, and I have it wired positive to negative straight to the batteries). I went this afternoon to take it back out, and it did the same thing. I have checked my cables for looseness, the batteries are full of water, and the posts are all clean...after that, I don't have a clue??? I did install my own headlight/taillight kit with turn signals, and I am running everything from a 36v to 12v 10amp dc converter. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you, Ray |

Re: 99 Club Car acts like its not charging
wel the 1st thing ischarge till charger shuts off let it sit an hour and take a voltage from each battery write readings down and than load test each battery and write those #,s down than post them and we,ll go from there..........you might have a barttery dropping out under load and thats all it takes............................................. ..

Re: 99 Club Car acts like its not charging
gotcha, try to get that done asap and post back, thank you
BTW, I got to looking closer and found that one of my cables was what appears to be cut in half and the previous owner half arsed clamped the ends back together with a heater hose clamp. It looks like it is making a good contact (new ones got ordered as soon as I saw it), but could that possibly cause a load drop as well, enough to do what its doing? Sorry it took so long, but it turned out to be a bad battery.
