Default Continuous Charge

2002 electric Club Cart that continuously charges and looses power after 15 holes. I have tried another chargers but it still stays on until I physically unplug it after 12 hours or so. I had a load test done and the batteries are fine. They are 18 months old. Any suggestions.

You were right to suspect the batteries... If the batteries are not the problem and the charger s not the problem ..... this leaves only the cables & charge receptacle to the batteries stuff?
...... or a motor that is drawing too much juice? Bad brushes? Bad cables? Is any thing getting hot? Cables? F&R?

start by charging cart let it sit an hour and take voltage readings and if you can load test batteries........................it sounds as if youir ready for a new set if thats the case be sure to break them in right, as mentioned check your cables also you can get a good premium set of 4 gage battery cables for right around 25 dollars..............so it might not hurt to change them as well.............................................. .........

Why do you think I need new batteries? The continuous charge has been happening before I bought new batteries in 2008. The loss of power recently began happening. The batteries do get hot and bubble. If the cables were the problem, I will be delighted. I can replace the cables easy enough. Someone said it might be the OBC. Thanks.

99%of the time if the OBC goes cart won,t run at all, or charger won,t work never seen a bad OBC doing what your cart is doing..........its quite possible as it happens all the time you might have a battery that went bad or one thats dropping out under load from what your posting that makes much more sense than your OBC ................JMHO.............................. ........

I think I'll try the cables first. You said 4 gage, the web distinguishes between Ezgo and Club car and between 36V & 48V. Is there a difference? Which one do I need to buy? My batteries have 4 holes.

I didn't really clue in on the fact this is 48v Club Car at first glance. If you have checked the charger and the batteries then the logical place to look next IS the OBC. It is the brain for whatever charger is connected to the cart. Save you $ on cables for now......it looks like you need an OBC.
I would like to hear what TahoeDawg has to say about this ........
Wait for others to concur or offer other possible solutions

Thanks for the information. I will wait on buying the cables but is there a difference between Ezgo & Club Car and 36V & 48V cables?
