Default Need more speed??

ok, this question might have been answered before, sorry if it has. I have a 48v 2001 cc, new batts this year, thought it was running "good". Well, my son buys a 2003 EZ Go 36v cart, and he can kick my *** on top speed, says it's all original, what am I missing? I have plenty of power, just not the speed (3 hrs of ridin, still showing 51.2 volts on pack). I hate getting beat my own kid! Any simple solutions?

You could go with a bigger motor. He probably has a PDS car.But a 48 volt car will run longer on a charge and has more torque it just stands to reason.Hookem together and see who pulls who backwards. LOL.

Drop in a 36v motor running on your 48v and see who wins.

Assuming you have a series drive system (lever F&R not toggle switch) you could find an old 36v CC motor and put it in there. Running the 36v on your 48v system will give him a darn good run for his money. My bet is he won't be able to keep up from the start line.

Thanks guys! If you say it'll work, I'll do it, (36v, here we come!), hate the thought of the young buck getting one up on me! :) :) :)
