Voltage converter/reducer question

My first questions would be, is there a difference? Next would be, by looking at the picture, do you think I need one? I have a 2008 Club Car (stealth 4x4) with 8 6v batteries I bought a couple weeks ago. This is how it was wired. The yellow wires go to the #7 & #8 battery. It has a Warn RT25 winch, 12V outlet, headlights & tail lights, and 4x4 selector switch. From what I have read on this sight, you don't want to pull off of just 2 batteries. Any suggestions on this? Thanks in advance.

Buy a HIGH QUALITY voltage converter with 30 amps... they run around $150 but would be worth it especially if you have a winch.

Vendors on this site should carry or get you one. I have a 25 amp off eBay that barely does the trick... so i'd spend the money and get the best the first time.

Save yourself some trouble and don't hook the winch up to the converter. I've yet to find a converter that would push enough amps to power a winch.

I guess I forgot to mention that I will mainly deer hunt with the cart. I won't use the lights that often and almost never on the winch. Would it still be worth spending the money? Could I just rotate batteries once a month? Thanks for your help.

Tahoe, I wondered that too. The specs from Warn's website show the Amps for 1500 lbs. at 96. The cart weighs 1200, so I figured if I did need the winch I could get up to the 1500 lb pull. Would it still be worth leaving the winch direct and using a converter for accessories?

Since the warn winch is an occasional use device I think it does no harm to have it connected to one 12v or twp 6v batteries since it may never get used.

I've used carts for years for deer hunting in Georgia and have never had any kind of reducer and I've gotten plenty of years of service from my batteries. Keep in mind that the lights are never used more than twice a day, and never more than about 5-10 minutes at a time either.

I only use light for 5-10 minutes also. Would it still be a good idea to move batteries around once in a while to let the other ones run the lights? Thanks for all the help.

Sure... it couldn't hurt but I don't think it's really necessary in your case.
