Smile 1988 Club Car (elec)

My mother purchased an old cart, put new batteries on it, changed one solenoid. It goes really good once u get it going, but it jerks like crazy until u get it going. Does anyone have any ideas for a son trying to keep his mother's cart going? Thanks for any info.

You have a row of 5 solenoids behind the batteries. The one closest to the driver's side is the master, the other 4 are speeds... you may have a bad solenoid. jack up one wheel and remove the seat bottom...... slowly accelerate the cart and listen for all the 5 solenoids to click as the close.... if all the solenoids click they MAY BE okay... Next look for a weak battery or loose cables, badly corroded connections?
