Voltage Indicator Unplugged

I recently purchased a 2006 Club Car Precedent and noticed that the voltage indicator located on the dash had one wire unplugged and was wondering if this was intentional. I've read some topics about the OBC and charging and so forth but couldn't really tell if this was why. I was going to plug it back in but thought I should wait and ask since it's been working fine.
Also can anyone give their opinion as to which voltage indicator to buy instead of the stock yellow light that is currently on there.

Just use that Yellow indicator light by plugging it back in. You can always add a voltmeter as well to see your pack voltage.

Thanks, by the way I love your cart. It's very nice. I see that you're a Ft Wilderness fan. We're actually going there tomorrow for the weekend. We're from Lakeland. I would love to get your input sometime on some of your upgrades and to how to go about making it street legal.

You're very welcome! Ft. Wilderness is a terrific place to go... we love it there. We also love River Ranch and as a matter of fact just purchased a lot there. It's also golf cart friendly and a beautiful place to stay.

Some people unplug the warning light when it won't go out ...... I've always found you can leave it plugged in and change out the OBC. That makes the warning light go out too

Thanks, that's what I was thinking may have happened but wanted to try to make sure first. I'll plug it back in and give it a try until I can get a new digital indicator.

I suspect you might have a an OBC &/or a battery problem.


Test the batteries before, during, and after charging to see if the OBC is operating the charger properly. A disconnected warning system is not an encouraging sign .......Ask the seller about it?

Batteries test fine and seem to last a long time. After charging they are at about 50.8 volts (this is a 48v system). Maybe they just got tired of seeing the charge light on????
Unplugging that doesn't have anything to do with the actual charging of the club car's does it. I've read some posts that talk about bypassing the OBC while charging.

no, it is just a warning light.
