Default Choosing a new OBC

I just don't trust my local Club Car shop, so I need some feedback on choosing a new OBC. The guy at Lester Electronics made the comment that they are making OBC's specific to certain batteries now? True? My local Club Car folks had never heard of such a thing and just wanted to get a new OBC based solely on my cart model number and old OBC model number. No interest in the fact that I'm running the beast motor or that I have a ge 500 amp controller and all upgraded wiring and switches.

Any advice on who I can call to get some real advice and order exactly what I should get, not just one that "will work"????

i would get the same thing thats coming out, i read nothing or seen anything from my suppliers about battery specfic OBC,s so when you order give them your year, model, and if they ask for any other cart info but it seems to be the way they keep upgrading the OBC,s they couldn,t be battery specific, but just in case wait for a response from tahodawg or rabbitreborn one of these guys will know.....................................

get the one for your year cart
unless your running a diffrent type of battery IE AGM

then you will need a diffrent charger.

the OBC monitors the amont of power used then replaces that amount + extra when you plug it in.

with a bigger motor and controller it just means you use the power Quicker

Please note that there were many OBC's that had problems and a new version fixes this. What year is your cart... what type of cart?

For example a 2006 and below CC precedent came with version 2.5 and below and are pieces of crap. The 2.6 and above are better and the newest version is the 4.0 as far as I know.

I'd ask Tahoedawg based on your specific cart what he would recommend.
