6ga to 4ga cables vglide?
Howdy again,
I have looked all over, but when you convert to a 4ga cables all over, do you have to change the vglide cables out too? How about the Solenoid wires? I changed all mine out, including the F/R switch...but not the 5 on the vglide assembly and Solenoid. I do not crimp mine, I drill two small holes in the end and seat the connector on until the solder fills the holes. Steve |

Re: 6ga to 4ga cables vglide?
Basically you want to change every 6 ga to 4. so that includes the F&R and Solenoid and Motor and speed control..... the v-glide makes it challenging because of the restricted space... you have to customize to get it done....

Start collecting the parts a little at a time.... happy wife beats the alternative

Re: 6ga to 4ga cables vglide?
I have done several V Glide with 2 and 4 gauge wiring by using schedule 80 brass pipe ( extra thick ) with one end flattened, bent for clearance and drilled for V glide posts and the other end I crimp and then solder with low lead content brazing solder. I have seen too many bad connections with soldering or crimping only so I do both for permanent connections. Some years ago I did a O guage cable set for a home solor pack and used 2 schedule 80 pipes that fit inside each other for added strength and then used same process to connect to welding cable and pack. I also used shrink tubing and battery anti corrode spray on any metal exposed an it still is working without any corrosion.
