Default Should my 2000 DS Club car slow itself down when going downhill?

I just put 6 new T-875 batteries in my 2000 48v DS club car with new 4 ga wire. I think I remember the previous owner of the cart telling me they removed something to make the cart go faster downhills. Is that possible on an electric cart? Should I expect the cart to hold back on the speed when going downhills? Will the motor burn up or lockup? I thought I had read somewhere about this happening.

Just using this cart around our neighborhood, but don't want to cause more problems when going down some of the bigger hills in the neighborhood.

Thanks.

If your cart is a regen 2 or IQ or any motor with speed sensor ( run tow switch, rocker type switch for F&R ) then you need the over speed sensor ( on end of motor with plug in to wire loom connection ) I would have knowlegable person check and hook up or remove cheater parts that some cart people use because you need to protect motor from blowing apart because of too high RPM's on steep down grades. I wouldnt want parts flying at my rear through seat and I have seen seats with motor parts sticking through just like that? Your choice?

My cart is not a regen or an IQ (no tow /run switch or rocker F/R). What would a "cheater" part look like. I don't see any unsual parts on the motor.

Should I expect the cart to slow itself down? Is that something it is suppose to do? My neighbor has a 1995 DS cart and seems to think they just don't have a way of slowing down on hills.

If you dont have a Regen or IQ you wont have speed sensor nor place for cheater ( a after market part ) that fools the sensor into thinking motor its going slower than it really is? I dont know of anything else on series motor that you can remove to make it go faster down hill? Yes the series motor has some effect on slowing cart down by turning faster than normal but nothing like old regen 1 and 2 carts that ran motors as generators slowing speed down by drag almost like applying the brakes.
SEE MY ABOVE ABOUT Possible damage?
