Default Reverse only

Hopefully this is my last issue! Any ideas why it would only go in reverse? The only thing I can think of is a wiring mishap somewhere. The new solenoid is different from the old solenoid in look and connections(old had a resistor, this one does not), but I have tested changing all the wires around and I either get reverse or nothing at all. Ideas?

2002 CC DS series 48 v cart. All guts are brand new. Anything to do with the OBC (I left the old cable going through the OBC, tied it off and then ran the upgraded 4g cable around the frame to the controller)? Maybe not having the resistor? All battery readings are good. 50.4

No reverse is because you have a wrong connection or combination of wrong connections on F&R switch? Check wiring diagram in stickies for example.
Solenoid replacement You need to put a NEW PRE-CHARGE RESISTOR of proper resistance for solenoid you installed ( amp rating ) across large posts on solenoid to protect the controller. It precharges the filter capacitors built inside controller to reduce arcing at contacts lengthing life.
IF your solenoid DOES NOT HAVE A BUILT IN DIODE add correct model one across small terminals being careful to install in right direction. This stops voltage in access of 150 volts from flooding back into controller and ruining unit.
QUESTION ABOUT "I left the old cable going through the OBC and tied it off and then ran the upgraded 4 gauge cable around the frame to the controller"
Just checking about your wording? Did you leave both ends of old 6 guage cable through OBC attached where they originally were located ? If not you need to hook back up to allow OBC to control chargering?

I don't know how I ould have screwed up that simple wiring. I'll check it again.

No, I didn't hook it up. I wasn't clear what you were saying before in another post. I will hook it up to the same post as the new wire then.

If you are not getting a solenoid Click in Reverse I would look to the Reverse micro-switch.... as much as you have been trying this and that wiring possibilities ~ I would guess the micro is bad if no click in Reverse but runs forward

If you have never replaced a solenoid before and person you bought parts from did advise you about needs either was not looking for additional sales and should have known that you needed additional parts and informed you at time of purchase? HIS FAULT.
On to the F&R control dont remember if you ever said if it was a ( Series motor with lever under right leg ) and if so following is 2001-2002 CC
Looking from back of battery acompartment forward at back of control
#1 lower left cabel WHITE
#2 upper passenger side BLUE
#3 swivel plate center back on left side Blue
#$ swivel plate center back on right ORANGE

OR If cart is IQ F&R ( rocker type switch under right leg )
Center back wire "RED-WHITE STRIPE" ( POWER FEED )
Drivers side forward "Blue"
Passenger side reverse "White"
this should solve your problem.

It clicks in reverse. It will not go FORWARD, the cart will only drive in reverse.
