Default Disc brakes for CC Precedent

Thinking of purchasing disk brakes for my 08 CC. Just installed Jakes 6" lift kit w/ 22inch wheels. Will the car have significally much better braking power?

thx

Welcome to the fun house easy.

Hydraulic disk brakes are always better than mechanical drum brakes. If you change over to them, you won't be sorry once you get over the dollars spent.

You will find that your cart stops like a champ and just like Jakes literature says 3 TIMES AS FAST. I hope that you got the 2008 spindle lift from Jakes as then its just a bolt on for their disc brake kit?
I think that for safety sake any golf cart that has been altered in any way to increase speed, like code 4 and larger tires should have additional braking. Golf cart brakes were made for 12-15 mph and anything above that is dangerous to drive in my opinion? Just like running a auto with front brakes unhooked? One Precedent near here has Jakes disc brakes on front and a disc brake mechanical system on back and can slid wheels from any speed. He really needs better brakes as he has converted to a V twin engine and road gears that allows about 28-30 mph plus? I will stick with my 14-16 mph myself thank you very much especially with my 1996 custom body.

thanks guys for your replies. It totally makes sense! I do have the Jakes 6" lift with the spindles provided. Im trying to figure out if i should go with front disk brakes or front/rear. If I go with front/rear, it would be for cosmetic reasons cause they sure look sweet. But im sure that going with disc brakes in the front will do the job.

Also, now that im online, would you know by any chance where I can get a decent deal on an 80" roof. I do like the smaller stock roof with rear seats but my kids are complaining about the hot seats, lol. We live in the Florida Keys and they can get quite hot.

thx.
