Stock batteries
Are stock batteries crap? I am looking at a 2006 Precedent with 2008 CC batteries. The price is really good, and it doesnt help that I am stuck trying to decide between this cart and an ezgo PDS with new Trojan Batteries and an auto watering system. I know its like comparing apples to oranges, but as a first time Cart Owner i gets confusing.
Sorry for all the questions, but I really appreciate all the good advice I have gotten here so far! -Hnsi |

Re: Stock batteries
Club Car stock batteries are very good from what I hear. I have driven many carts for long periods of time with CC stock batteries and have not had any problems. Personally, I would buy the PDS cart just because I am loyal to E-Z-GO (haha). However, if you prefer the specs or looks of the Precedent, don't let the batteries change your mind. They will do the trick for a long, long time. Good luck!

Re: Stock batteries
That's good to hear. And I am leaning the way of the CC right now. I like the look of the CC over the ezgo, and it is already painted the color I want. Plus is is about 450 less in price for the same year model. I was kinda intruiged by the PDS system of abiility to change the chip for different driving needs (spped or torque) and the fact that it has new Torjan batteries.
Thanks for the info! -hnsi |

Good luck! I bought my three speed chips for $3-$5 each so maybe that will persuade you a little bit. |

Re: Stock batteries
ordinarily it would persuade me, but my ultimate plan is to put a P motor and/or controller in, so all that speedchip/speed setting stuff won't be an issue.
(oh, and it would only take $4000 to own both, but customizing both would get VERY expensive! LOL) -hnsi |

Re: Stock batteries
CC stock batteries are great. My 08 CC stock batteries are strong and were used 2 years as a golf fleet car. By the way, they say Club Car by Trojan, so they are Trojan batteries!

Re: Stock batteries
Cool. I did decide to go with the '06 Precedent. Got it for $1700, which I hope is a good price, regardless it was $600-$700 less than any other cart of similar quality in similar condition. So here goes - I am now a cart owner. Rear flip seat and leaf springs is first to be put on, and over the winter I will be looking at other upgrades.

Re: Stock batteries
Good deal! Get a digital multimeter and a battery load tester. These are a must for a cart owner unless you plan to take it to the shop every time something is not right. Take care of your batteries, look at the sticky at the top of this forum on Batteries. Now that you have bought the cart, LEAVE THIS FORUM NOW! or it will cost you another $1700 before you know it!!!!
