Default Opinions please; cable replacements

My cart is a 97 CC DS series motor. I live in a very flat area and cart is used for golf only. I'm about to pull the trigger on a Plumquick Bandit motor. Cart runs 14mph now and looking to get to about 20mph. I'm considering replacing some of the power cables with 4ga. I found a couple of 4ga sets on ebay for about $35 for 5-14" cables and 2 24" cables. Here's an excerpt from the listing:
Quote:
You are bidding on new heavy duty 4 ga cables. These cables are terminated with 5/16 tinned copper lugs. Double wall heat shrink protects the crimp on each end from corrosion. These cables are constructed using 4ga weld cable. This will give you increased current flow, added flexibility, and increased resistance to wear and corrosion over stock 6ga cables. This is not a totaly complete set, but the most common replaced cables on your cart. I can custom make a complete set for you just contact me with the lengths that you need.

I guarantee you will be pleased with these cables. These are truly quality cables constructed from material that is used everyday in industrial applications. These larger 4ga cables can give you added performance and can extend the life of the motors
Is this set sufficient (quality and quantity)? Does it replace enough of the cabling? For the cable that runs through the OBC, is it OK to run the replacement cable around the OBC, otherwise I'd have to put one end on that cable? Is 24" long enough to replace the cable that runs through the OBC or should I get longer? They state they can make a custom length? The battery cables are at least 5 years old and I've had to replace one. I was thinking might as well replace at least all of the battery cables. This same ebay seller also sells just a 5 cable battery replacement set. Maybe I should go that route?

This is my first attempt at any type of mod so I appreciate opinions and suggestions.

To get the full benefits of a cable upgrade, all cables should be replaced. That means the battery cables and all cables to the forward and reverse switch and motor. You can leave the existing wire through the OBC and run the new one around it. Make sure they are both hooked up though, because the OBC still needs to sense the current going through it. If not replacing all cables it probably isn't worth the trouble. There are some site sponsors that sell complete cable sets.

You should read this before you decide how much cable you are willing to change. You should change it all

You can use a 36 volt motor and increase your speed, it works very well. I did this some 5 years ago and I'm still amazed at the pep in this cart. A 4 guage cable will slide through the hole in the obc without the eyelet connector however you will need a way to crimp the eyelet connector after you run the cable.
