Default Late model DS with 6-8v arrangement

I know the new DS models come with the 6-8v batts, but how about 2007 or 08 models. I am talking to a guy about buying an '07 DS, but all I am finding are the 4-12v carts. Are 6-8v's available in the recent year models?

If they are not available, I will likely go ahead with the 4-12v cart and maybe convert it after the batts die(That is if I am not happy with run time).

I have a 07 President with 09 4-12v Torjans and run time is great, so far. People I have talked with said run time is around 2 hrs or 20 miles. This is their opinion. Don't believe the 6-8v were avaible in the 07 models...Think price wise a lot of folks are going with the 8-6v....Frank

I have seen alot of other posts about the 4-12volt vs. the6-8volt. The thing is that club car even makes a conversion kit to make the change because there had been so many complaints.

In my area a 4-12 battery cart sells for at least $800.-$1000. less than a same year 6-8 volt unit. The conversion costs make them not such a good deal after all?
As to difference between 12 volt and 8 volt packs see TahoeDawgZ71 great post on difference's.
