Re: 92 clubca f/r switch
You didnt state voltage and on a cart that old that could have been changed many times so forum needs additional info. What type of pedal control do you have? 1=Stock would be V Glide ( pie shaped unit ) under drivers seat with 6 heavy gauge cables running to resistor bank behind batterys. 2= Some models came with V Glide and light gauge wiring running to a solid state controller? Please advise with needed info as the systems are very different in diagnosing problems. Otherwise its just a guessing game that takes up your time as well as forums. Has any wiring been done before problem started? It really sounds like a possiblity that solenoid is stuck in closed postion or possible wiring problem, but until forum has needed info?

Re: 92 clubca f/r switch
First I would check that solenoid isnt stuck in ON POSITION as this can feed power to V Glide before pedal is pressed down? If solenoid is OK I would next check condition of V Glide unit interrior contacts such as wiper arm, wiper brush or wiper spring could be out of place causing more than one contact being jumped at a time? Also check and make sure that wiper arm when pedal is UP there should be no contact on any of contacts from bottom to top of swing? If all that is in good condition I would compare wiring with diagram in Stickies under heading "Electric Club car Wiring Diagram and second diagram down from top? It doesn't show wiring colors but I have them for you by wire numbers in drawing
#3-Black, #4-Gray, #5-Black, #6-Blue, #7-Green, #8-Yellow, #9-Orange, #10-Green slow speed tap on middle battery in pack, #11-White to lower right side of F&R switch. |

Re: 92 clubca f/r switch
You ( can use a shunt motor ) by changing to a solid state controller ALLTRAX, converting your V Glide to a solid state electronic resistance unit kit available, or better yet install a PB-6 pot control to replace V Glide, redo all control wiring to Shunt, change complete F&R control, change all 6 gauge wiring to 4 gauge, etc?
I personally would pick up a good condition used 36 volt series motor and go with V Glide conversion ( kit CC available ), add solid state controller ( ALLTRAX ), need to only do minor wiring changes, and retain your existing F&R control, Retain your same solenoid, but in both cases change all 6 gauge wiring with 4 guage. Much simpler change over than regen ( shunt motor ) and I think you would find costs cheaper. If you can tell me which F&R control you have I may have wiring diagram for it as I have the original, and later model replacement model wiring diagrams? |

Re: 92 clubca f/r switch
Oldmec,
I am also in need of the F&R wiring diagram for this same F&R Switch. My son thought he was doing me a favor when he disconnected all the wires for the new one I was putting in. Of course I had not labled anything yet or taken a picture for future ref! Thanks, Robert |
