Re: accelerator pedal problems
JAYNE doesn't your cart have a V Glide ( pie shaped unit under drivers seat ) with SIX 6 gauge wires running from it to a resistor bank ( large coils ) as that was stock set up? If so look for broken or bad connections on resistors. If all looks good then take cover off V Glide unit and check condition of wiper arm, wiper brush, and wiper spring ( which pushes arm assembly against contacts ) as most often this is where damage occurs? Check flat contacts that wiper assembly rotates against for burned contacts.

Re: accelerator pedal problems
Ok then you must have a V Glide unit ( pie shaped unit mounted under drivers seat )converted to solid state with small electronic resistors mounted behind rear cover with only 18-22 gauge wiring going to a solid state controller? Club Car called them multi step potentiometer rather than V Glide when small resistors were added and connected to solid state controller? If this is the case you DONT HAVE the large resistor bank behind batterys? Checking condition is the same as I stated before with addition of checking for burned-cracked-open circuit small resistors.

Re: accelerator pedal problems
ok mec ichecked the v glide and it appears to be ok this is a 48 volt cart not 36 as jayne stated it does ok on flat ground but start up a incline and it starts speeding up and down unless you push the pedal all the way down or let up to a slow speed

Re: accelerator pedal problems
From what you say it sounds like the V glide is giving a variable signal to controller ( speed up and down when pedal is held steady ) I would check your V glide again for worn wiper arm brush or dirty contacts ( both should be shiney and clean and brush should making ( full surface contact ) without any swelling at contact surface where it could contact more than one segment of contact at same time ) and most of all see if you have a good spring pressure on wiper arm to contacts as with a 48 volt application a light touch can cause problems?
You might check condition of GO pedal bracket support bearings, any linkage to V glide for wear or looseness? Grab pedal near floor and see it you have alot of side to side as well as front to rear movement? It could be sending a varing message when cart is in motion because of body flex and bouncing movement? |
