Re: 2 Speed Motors
What you are missing is that I have a stock controller, stock F/R switch, stock wires & stock solenoid (about $1k to upgrade w/o D&D motor)...so the only investment was the EMP motor for $425 + the $100 for the 2 speed switch. My cart was pretty slow, so I would estimate it did add about 10 mph. It also has more torque with the 22 inch tires than it did with the stock motor and 18 inch tires. I don't think the stock motor would have worked with the lift and upgrading controller, etc. would not have added as much speed without getting a motor as well. I only would have gained a few mph from the larger tires. Therefore, I gained a lot of speed and torque for a lot less oney than your setup. I don't need to go 29+ mph, I have small children, but want to go faster than 11 mph. For my needs, the setup is great.
