Solenoid Replacement

I have a XXXX Club Car (Serial A0036-929284) and I need to replace the solenoid. It only clicks when you push the throttle and this is my first choice to trouble shooting. My question is the old one looks nothing like the one I just picked up from the dealer, so how to hook the wires up? The both have four lugs (2 small and 2 larger) but old is square and new is round. Any help will be be appreciated.

It's supposed to click when you push the pedal but just because it clicks doesn't mean its good.

It really doesn't matter. The large terminals are just making/breaking a connection. The small terminals, one will be positive and the other negative. Just fit it the best way and wire it up like the original.

Check your voltages there...... I think CC made 48 volt square solenoids and 36v round solenoids ..... I'm not 100% sure but see if you can find a rating on the solenoids. Your 2000 cart is 48v.

The solenoid that is currently on the cart is this style:

The square one is a 400 amp unit with built in resistor and diode.
The one you got is for a 95-97? I dunno what the amp rating is or whether it has a resistor or diode to protect the controller.
Better wait for some of the CC guys to help. Sorry I can't be more help

The ( new one indicated ) is a light duty stock type ( low amp rated unit ) most are only rated for 70-100 amps MAX, while the one in cart ( now ) is rated for "200 amps as per picture" and is what you should replace your OLD UNIT WITH as minimum. I know price is higher but it will last much longer and stand up to any up dates on cables, controllers, lifts, tall tires etc.
Question is your cart a series motor ( F&R lever under right leg ) OR regen 2 ( rocker type switch under right leg and also Run Tow switch under seat )

Be sure and check if new solenoid has built in Diode and pre charger resistor, and if not be sure and add them to protect contactor.
