Default 2004 Precedent Front Light Issue

So I have the "basic" light package installed. The brake lights work fine, but every time the front light blows? I have gone through 4 bulbs and am at a loss. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Some thing is wrong and normally its too high a voltage? Using volt meter check at headlight for voltage ( lights and accessories are all 12 volt ) and if you have anything above 16 volts this will happen? Did you do light installation or have some shop do it for you? If done outside take it back and have them fix problem as this one of the first things a shop does before doing any additions?

I did it myself using a kit. Any way to reduce the voltage off the battery by going to a local O'Rileys/Shucks? The light kit included the wiring harness and a circuit breaker, which I get conflicting information on which battery that is to be connected to. I get info it should be battery 1 and others show batter 4. Currently it is on battery 4.

ONE QUESTION WHAT BATTERYS DO YOU HAVE 6-8 volt batterys ( 4 fill holes ) or 4-12 volt batterys ( 6 fill holes )? The best way is to get yourself a whole pack voltage reducer ( 48 Volts ), these are available from forum spsonsors and NOT a auto parts store as cars and trucks are only 12 volts? It drops 48 volts down to 12 volts and has the advantage of pulling whole battery pack down even rather than just hooking to one or two batterys, AND usually has higher output amp rating. By hooking to 2-8 volt batterys in series you end up with 16 volts which shortens the life of bulbs and flasher units etc. There are other reducers for sale that hook to only 2 of your batterys but this causes unbalance and ruins batterys much faster and gives very low amp output.
Rather than run your power pack down I like to add another small 12 volt battery that powers all extras like lights, horn, stop lights, turn signals, sterio, radio, running lights, GPS, etc. I use a sealed small 7"X6"X7" batterys that can be mounted in any position as its sealed. I use a cheap 12 volt auto charger and charge mine only 2 times a month.

I have (4) 12V batteries. I will work through a forum sponsor to obtain a voltage reducer.

Thanks for the help!

You live in a nice area of Washington, some years ago when we still lived in Oregon I used to see army buddy that lived near Silver Lake and we used to go up I-5 to 164th Street exit and then on to Silver Lake through your area.

That is right down the street....I live next to the golf course at Mill Creek. I got the cart just for golfing. Fun times. I learned the hard way one night leaving the course after golf/dinner that riding back on the course home can be challenging.

So I was looking at schematic and it shows the 12v off battery 1 and I am running off 4. Do you think that would cause the additional voltage issue?

You must be getting more than 12 volts some how, so check your wiring and confirm that you are only hooked to ( ONE BATTERY positive and negative posts ) if not you get anywhere from 24-48 volts that is blowing bulbs?

I got it figured out. The fact I was using the 4th battery I was obtaining 24V. I made a new pigtail and connected off battery 1 and it worked. I guess I just needed to ping this back/forth with someone to finally fix the issue.

Thanks for the replies!
