Battery Cell Voltage Test????
I have seen several references in numerous theads that mention the verification of individual battery cell voltages. Can someone shed some light on the process of going about this? Do you use a Hygrometer and then a reference chart for specific gravity or is there a way to do this with a multimeter. I am very aware of how to measure the battery voltage across all cells but not clear on individual cells.

Re: Battery Cell Voltage Test????
It's much easier and more accurate to just use a hydrometer.

Re: Battery Cell Voltage Test????
The hydrometer test is very basic by using a single float temperature correcting scale hydrometer ( auto parts stores $5-7 ) ( NOT A multi float antifreeze tester ) done at least one hour AFTER charging or in case or distilled water addition at least one full charge cycle and refer to chart in stickies titled "State Of Charge Readings}" that shows specific gravity for hydrometer and voltages for each and pack voltage. A simple digital volt meter ( Harbor Freight $3-5. ) first hooked across each battery positive to negative posts, then across whole pack back battery drivers side negative to passenger side rear battery positive side. NOTE BE SURE AND SET meter FOR HIGH ENOUGH VOLTAGE ON SCALE ( EXAMPLE 48 volts set at 100 volts ) If you are in doubt about readings post so forum can help you with answers.
