its mounted, software for the SOC is done. i've been working on some other stuff lately so this project sorta got set aside for a bit. still have a little analog tuning due to a limitation of the C im using. i'll have some pics of it running in the cart now that the weather is starting to not suck.

still not sure what i want to do for buttons/switches. (lights, blinkers, etc.) the android route is pretty slick, but has its shortcomings.

werd. what phone do you carry?

the bluetooth route solves all of the problems of weatherproofing buttons and the lcd, but brings up the issues of long term support, code compatibility between different phones, mounting options, limited user base, etc... i haven't given up on it, i still like the idea... just not sure how practical it would be beyond a one-off prototype.

I really liked the first edition LCD meter and thought it gave enough info. They're easy enough to make splash proof with an enclosure/faceplate and/or an epoxy coated circuit board.
If it could be done in the $50 range I think that would be the winner.
I am currently using the $15 2 wire digital meter supplied by FCB Electronics, it's not waterproof and it washes out in the sun because it's an LED. Link: http://www.fcbelectronicsusa.com/ser...all-12v/Detail

Any updates Sonic? The Bluetooth idea is cool. Buy a smartphone and install it in the dash. What sends the inputs? I'd love to have temp and rpm gauges, but crap, if I install all the electrical "whiz-bang" stuff I want to my cart will travel 2 miles and need a recharge.
