Batteries are original and have been toped off when i bought it a month ago. I got a good deal on the cart and tried it at my local country club today. I hoped to golf 18 and only made it 9 holes. I ran out of power and had to be pushed up the last hill.

Where is the best place to get some trojans (i have 4 -12v's) or is it worth going to 8v's. I understand 8's with last long but do the numbers work out after having to install the expensive kit?

I have not done a voltage test yet.

I also have 4 12's and am very happy with how long theyve lasted. I drive my cart over 6 miles every other day and get back home no problem, still running strong. Ive got mixed feeling about going 8v. I know they should last longer but does not mean its the answer to your problem. With poor maintenance, batteries deteriorate over time and the same will happen to the 8v. Granted they "should" last longer. But ive had my batteries going on 4 years now and they are still fine. If you only played 9 holes, you definitely have a problem. I would check out the US Batteries even before you go trojan. My opinion.

Your issue could be more than batteries...I did the same thing and replaced the batteries on my 05 CC precedent. Found out that the OBC was cutting the charger off after only an hour of charge! Replaced the OBC and it works great. The easy way to tell if the OBC is bad is to hook up the charger and monitor how long it charges and if the meter on the charger is down to a low level when it shuts off.

I think its time for you to invest in a digital volt meter ( harbor freight $4-6. ) and a single float temperature correcting scale hydrometer ( $5-7 auto parts stores ) NOTE NOT MULTI FLOAT ANTIFREEZE TESTERS. with both you will be able to test condition of your batterys and know whats going on.
In my area 12 volt cart owners are converting to 8 volt batterys and will gain 25%-40% range and battery life, as this is why Club Car dropped the 12 volters. 12 volt carts can be bought new for $1150-$1500. less than the same cart in 8 volts?

I'm sure you know better than me, but I heard CC revamped the 12v and are still using them? I guess it's easy to find, I'd love to pick up a new or 4-12v. cart for $1500...still a geat investment after the conversion. Man the parts alone add up to more than that?

BRS I said "$1150-$1500 LESS THAN THE SAME CART WITH 8 Volt Batterys". I am not aware of any NEW 2010-2011 CC 12 volt carts but maybe TahoeDawgZ71 maybe can give us straight dope?

No such thing any longer.... All cars get 8's.... However, the US 12V is still available from Service Parts

I think the Trojans that came with the cc Pres carts were T1275s, Tahoe? In Augusta GA those run around $150 each. There is a T1260 that isn't as tall, hence less lead so shorter runtime and they are around $120 I believe. If you don't mind used, you may be able to find some a few years old that someone went back to the 6X8 configuration. I was getting 07/08 T1275s for 30 bucks each last year but haven't seen any recently.

This may sound a little crazy but my dad has a 07 precedent and plays golf 3 times a week 18 holes each time and lives in the foothills of south carolina and has no problems. Golf Courses beat batteries down real bad and dont take care of them like we all folks do. If you are just cruising the neighborhood and whatever the 4-12s work great.And also playing golf. Nuff Said.

They just didn't live up tp the 36 holes day in and day out! Look at the US Batteries 12V's. I think it is better than the Trojan 12V.
