Default D&D Motor & Controller

OK, so I finally got around to popping the back cover on the 2001 CC DS 48v I picked up last week and found that it has an upgraded controller and motor from D&D Motors. The controller is 5k0-3 & the motor is 170-007-0002. Also has updated solenoid & F/R switch. Anyone know anything about either of these or D&D Motors? Any idea of the dollar value of an upgrade like that?

I had planned on putting a 4" lift, slightly bigger tires & back seat - do I need to reconsider that in light of the motor upgrade? Any help or guidance is appreciated!

Mike,D&D web site says the motor is 16.5hp @400 amps speeds up to 25 mph.The controller is a big ???.D&D I think uses other people's controllers and restickers them look it over good and you should find a manufactures part ##.I am going thru a similar set up on a 2000.5 regen II.By the way,D&D shows that motor as only +5 in torque over stock, you mentioned a lift.Cart should be pretty quick like it is..Hope this helps.Dave

Thanks for the info, Dave! It looks like the controller is a re-badged AllTrax. I wasn't planning on upgrading the motor & controller, but since it's already there...

I'm beggining the upgrade on my 2000 CC DS 48v. I'm budgeting around $1000 for the motor, controller, solenoid, and F&R switch upgrade. I sure wish I had found a D&D motor and an Alltrax controller in mine when I opened it up.

I know, right? I currently have all the batteries out, gonna clean up battery cases/posts, check and replace cables as needed - someone put a store bought 6 ga cable on one battery instead of the proper 4 ga. Kids are REALLY after me to get the cart back together, but I'm going to make sure it's buttoned down good first. Good luck with your upgrades, post some pics & before/after mph numbers. Cheers!
