Default Lifting a Pathway?

I just bought a Club Car and I thought it was a 2004 model. The guy I bought it from bought it new in 2004. The serial number is NR0399 so I guess its a 2003. I also found out its a Pathway (New Yorker). The cart has front brakes which leads me to my question. I was wanting to lift the cart and put 23" tires on it, is this possible and keep the front brakes on it? Do any of you guys know anything about this cart? Any info. is greatly appreciated. Thanks Greg

Yes, use a 'Z' lift, not a spindle lift.

I don't have a source for them but they were factory lifts for many years and I have seen them on eBay or maybe one of the other sponsors carries them ...

On second thought you might even call Jakes and ask them if one of their lifts will work with the stock CC front brakes.

I called Jakes Lifts and they told me that a lift kit (6233)that fit a Club Car Carryall would work for the Pathway cart with front brakes. Has anybody here on BGW put this lift kit under there Pathway cart? Thanks Greg

Use the factory lift kit from Club Car.... Part number AM10755..... Then, make sure you use different rims on the front than you do in the rear... they need less off-set to bring the tires back inward due to the extra off-set from the brake spindles... Lifted pathways have a tendency to rub the tires on the cowl if the proper off-set isn't used. I can get part numbers for those tires for you as well if you'd like.

EDIT: Most aftermarket wheels would probably work fine... Especially the ones that require the use of a wheel spacer.... Just leave off the wheel spacer in the front.

Thanks for the info. TahoeDawgZ71, I was planning on using 10" wheels with 22" tires, I haven't bought them yet. What off-set would I need to run on this buggie with a factory 6" lift? Thanks again for the help, Greg

You won't find a factory 6" lift.... If I remember correctly, the factory lift is only about 2.75" front and 3" rear, but allows for 22X11X10 tires due to the fact that it extends the wheelbase forward about an inch or so. That's how you'll gain the tire clearance, yet keep the body roll down at the same time. I can't remember the off-set of the wheel. I'll have to measure it when I go back to work on Monday.

Both of these cars have the factory lift kit installed on them... The Blue one is actually a Pathway converted back to a golf car.... I figured a pic would help ya make your decision one way or the other...
