Question Charging problem - new batt and charger

This cart has newer (6mo - 1year old) Trojan batteries (48 volt system). Voltage on the batteries are good (8.14 - 8.16 on all). The old charger would charge for about 10 minutes then click off. It had a hot/burning smell once it was on for the 10 min. I took the charger to a cart shop and they tested it on other carts to help rule out my cart itself having a problem. The charger was in fact bad. So I purchased a new charger (Shauer brand). It has been doing fine for about 2 months now, but now won't charge. The charger has a yellow light that says equilizer on the front. If the light isn't on the charger is not charging. The charger powers on but won't always give that yellow light. I can sometimes unplug from the cart, wait a minute and plug back in and it will then begin charging. But that doesn't always work. Any advise??

I'm at a loss and need help!! Thanks!

Check the charge plug and charge port, could have bad contacts. Tattle tale will be when it does charge the plug is getting hot, not warm but Hotter than normal. Check all your charge wire connections real good.

It would really help alot to give forum full info ( as you only gave bat voltage ) when asking for help Please give Year, Voltage, Model Series or Regen, stock or conversion, as all can make a difference in diagnosing problem? If cart was stock 48 volt I assume you have ( unhooked the OBC ) because you are using a non Club Car Shauer Charger? Do you still use the orginal round plug used on 48 volt CC carts, and have you checked for corrosion and or poor connection and also have you changed any of the wiring behind cart receptical, and checked the inline fuse behind as well?
