Default Keypad ignition

I recently had my fully customized Club Car stolen right out of the cart barn at my country club. Before I invest in another one, I've been thinking about theft protection. Has anyone ever tried a keypad ignition like this one?

First welcome and sorry for your loss!

as a reply, no i haven't tried. these carts are light and easy. it is fairly simple to tow them away with a dead ignition. i suppose even if someone was just a bit determined they could bypass the key quickly if theey knew what they were doing.

being yours was electric i think all it takes is an alligator clip on the fnr connections. at least the older ones that would do the trick

cc sells an individual keyed ignition i think.

I would have a lock that locked the wheels all the way tuned.

Locking lug nuts too so rims don't come up missing when they can't take the cart.

Also one of the best i have seen wa a steel bar that the owner passed through the rear wheels(the heavy end) and one end had a big flat welded on it. the other end had a hole drilled through for a pad lock. but before the padlock was put on there was a steel can type thing that slid over the shaft and kinda protected the lock from having bolt cutters used on it.

Yeah, an ignition is not going to guarantee that your car will not get stolen. Actually kinda easy to go under dash and jump the cables and go. However, having said that, changing the ignition will make it more difficult to steal and would just add one more step for the thief to try to overcome and think twice about. Unless the electronic keypad is waterproof, I would recommend maybe going with a barrel key. Fairly easy to install. Just need to make some adjustments to the back of the dash.

I went with a key switch from auto zone, found an alarm on eBay for $71 (kinda ridiculous and kinda sweet at the same time) and I would like to hide a kill switch too.

Any suggestions as to what cable to install one of these on? Thanks and a Happy Holiday to all!

One of these might be handy... The BGW sponsors sell them I'm sure.

Some body sells one that locks the steering wheel to the brake pedal. that would be cool too.

There need to be some kinda pedal lock to lock the brake pedal in the "DOWN" possition...
