Default Lets Talk BATTERIES and DESULFATORS

I have 2005 Club Car Precedent 48v cart, using T-1275 12v deep cycle batteries or--T-1260 Plus 12V deep cycle batteries.

PROBLEM One batt is at 10.5 V. Pulling the others down. Bad cell I know. Not sure which one.

ACTIONS (These batts are 225 a piece). I have added Epsom salt distilled water mixture per youtube vid. Next I charged only bad batt with regular car charger. Not Golf cart charger. This got it up to 11.5v over night. (Needs to be 12.7.) I have to keep cycling bad batt to help Epsom salt desulfate cells. Will advise my progress.

I have ordered desulfator/solar panel off Ebay for 40.00 bucks. Even if this doesnt fix bad batt it should help others last longer.

Is there any advice/SUCCESS stories out there? How to refurbish these?

Can we create a Poll to vote on whether Desulfators have worked for you?

PART 2 Cont.

I reconnected the batt and reset the OBC. I just ran the Club Car for 15 min then charged all the batts with normal smart charger. After the charge was complete the bad batt read 12.7!!

Epsom = Mag Sulfate
Here is the link for the video.

You didn't ask for anyone to tell you if they tried that crap and it DIDN'T work.

I tried that epsom salt and other things just to satisfy myself. I went and bought new batteries a couple of weeks later. Now, my cart runs really good. When they get weak, I'll go through the process again, minus the desulfation step. Have and maintain good batteries and you won't have to worry about the snake oils. I'm not knocking it like others have done just by speculating. I actually tried it and speak from experience.

BTW.. if those are the original batteries, they are probably getting close to the end of their life span, anyway. 6 - 7 years is expecting a whole lot out of a battery.

That is why I want to do a Poll. Most Forums have that option.

I just bought it off an old guy 3 months ago who never used it. If it saves the batt, its worth trying. The other batts are strong.

Good point. 12.7 right after. then 12.4 after 30 min.

I cycled the battery again and charged it on 10A with car charger. This time it was 13.1 after and 12.7 in 30 min. Thats an improvement from yesterday when it would only show 10.4.

I chimed in while ago because I went through the state of denial, just like you are. I told some of these guys that I was going to try it since it seemed so possible in the material I had read. I found out that it was a waste of time, and that Epsom salt would have been spent more efficiently by placing a couple of tablespoons in a glass of water and drinking it rather than pouring it down a bunch of used up batteries. I even went so far as to go buy a whole big container of battery acid to replace the old mixture, but again, it was all a big waste. You seem to be as stubborn as I was/am, so all I can tell you now is forget about all of the polls and opinions and just go get your Epsom salt, add to the batteries, following all of the steps in the information you've read and watched, so you can see for yourself. Then, in about 2 months, it will be you telling someone else not to waste their time and resources.
