Installed a water tight toggle switch under dash today for Datel DM. Have to many people telling me that a light is on in the cart, lol. This way I can keep it on or off at the flick of a switch. Some members on here like Ausie has it set up that way too. Either way will work great. Will post pics after the game. thx

yeah I prefer a toggle switch so I can have it on or off as I like, I used a heavy duty toggle.

3. I wanted it water resistant enough to be suitable for outdoor use.
4. I wanted real time readings
5. I wanted it daylight readable.
6. I wanted it in blue.

5 out of 6 ain't bad = It comes in red

It does not flicker.... I see it toggle back and forth between tenths at times but the other two digits are steady. It is a 3 digit read out when used below 100 volts... Aussie had a blue one but it went to 50v only and fried on the 48v charge cycle... I have sent him a new red one good to 199 volts.
yeah I fried that 50v meter when I converted from 36v to 48v. The 50v meter couldn't handle the higher volts. The dealer told me the 50v may handle up to 60v, but nope it doesn't

I think the ideal switch would be something like a run/tow switch rated for 48v DC ...

My auto electrician recommended I use a HD 75amp push pull switch and it works fine.

SJ, I would go with a higher amperage switch. Also, the one I installed came with about 6' of 14ga wire to both + and - sides of the switch which made installation simple. A quick hook up with marine grade connectors and done. Maybe helpful for members w/o a solder gun. But either or with that rubber boot and your good.
