Default Installed Datel digital meter today.

Got my Datel digital meter today. Two wire installation very straight forward. First decided to install to ignition. Thought it was pretty cool that meter turned off with ignition. Instead connected meter straight to 48v pos/neg connection behind dash. This way you can determine charge at a glance w/o having to turn ign on. Also could see charger "cycling" which I found interesting. Datel claims that meter's plastic face is water resistant but decided to silicone back of meter to dash to keep water from seeping through. Meter comes with handy mounting bracket that bites into the back of meter keeping meter snug against dash (not in pic). Did not order optional bezel bc I prefer the clean look. However if going this route, hole in dash needs to be opened precisely because their is not much lip on meter face. Compared meter reading to hand held volt meter and numbers matched up exactly. All in all, nice little product!

Wow ~ You could have copied and pasted my original post on that post.... That's how I installed the test meter.... It is fun watching the charger go thru it's three phases .... Aussie got the water proof bezel (trim on his ) I prefer the trimless look like you did. Looks Good

The meter is rated to work from 30-199vdc but i have successfully used it down toward 24 volts.

Yeah. After getting it installed to the ignition, didn't think it made that much sense to have to get the key and turn on to get a reading. In terms of positioning, I preferred the meter located directly on the "dot". That dot is a small scribe from dealership were the CC Curtis meter would of gone. thanks guys...

Nice job

I also purchased one and will install it this weekend but with the waterproof bezel like my other meter... (still working but not waterproof and sometimes has a mind of it's own ) Also doing new design brake cables from CC for a future upgrade to disk brakes, both the longer passenger side cables.

This is a good meter you guys will like it. My test meter has been left outside in the yard cart for a few months in the heat and rain without the bezel and the unit works flawlessly ...

Scubba which brakes are you planning on using? 1 that I know of already makes cable extenders...
