I thank everyone for their help in this matter. I do have another question regarding the batteries. Can I replace my 8 volt batteries with 12volt and eliminate one of the batteries and still have them equal 48?

All batteries in a pack must be the same voltage. It is best that they are a matched set too.

U can replace 6 8 volt with 4 12 volt, but you will have less run time, slower speeds and lower torque.
