94 club car shutters now nothing
its been shuttering since I picked it up a couple years ago. The other day it took off like it usually does then totally stoped. Put the hydrometer in the cells and only 2 showed fair. I'm going to check all the cables tonight. Should I look for anything else.
It is also a lifted cart. |

Yeah... they've been shot for two years. Time for some new ones. You'll feel like you're driving a new cart after getting used to all that shuttering.

Re: 94 club car shutters now nothing
I was at the auto part store looking at batteries earlier, does it need to be a golf cart specific battery? What about using 3 12 volts batteries?

Yes the batteries should be golf cart specific batteries. Golf cart batteries are designed to hold a large amount of amperage and to be discharged relatively low over a long period of time. Automotive batteries do not store as much amperage and are designed for shallow discharge and immediate recharge. Like starting a car and having the alternator immediately begin charging. You can connect 3 automotive 12v batteries in series and get 36v. You will not the amperage reserve or operational characteristics needed to make the batteries perform well or last satisfactorily in a golf cart. |

Re: 94 club car shutters now nothing
Ok thanks for all the info. I'm on my way to get a couple of batteries now. I have to save up and get 2 at a time.
I'm replacing the 2005 batteries 1st and the other 4 are late 2008. They'll have to wait until next time. |

Do not mix new batteries with used ones unless you are willing to let the charger turn your new batteries old pretty darn quick! The old batteries will call for a longer charge than is healthy for the new batteries, overcharging them will reduce them to the level of the majority of the pack soon..... hope this helps! |
