36 volt motor in a 48 volt cart will make it faster and give more torque .......you CAN NOT put a 48 volt motor in a 36 volt cart as for upgrading a resistor cart your very limited because it ends up melting resistor coils thats why you upgrade to controller cart to get away from that......what you can do is upgrade all cables but other than that your pushing your luck.................
