Default Battery warning light

Have a 97 elec Club Car. Batteries are getting old and reading in the "fair" range on the hydrometer.

Noticed today that the orange or yellow light on the dash is now coming on and off intermittently so assume batteries are about to die on me.

Anyone have a guess at how much I have left to replace them.
Thanks.

the hydrometer will tell the story the best. Perhaps one battery is in worse shape than the rest...? Could go months on fair depending on usage, charging habits, etc.

Thanks for the quick reply Scotty. Your answer is most likely correct. Since posting, I found that my wife used the car a couple of times in my absence and the water level was very low in a couple of batteries. I topped them up and put the charger back on and now the light has gone off.
I've almost got 8 years out of the current said so I'm not complaining.
Cheers

Aussiebob, sorry to say this....water below the plates is very bad! Irreversable damage can occure and will shorten what othwise sounds like a long and happy life. I have some 8 yr olds, can't expect much more.. educate her.
