Need a little help with Alltrax controller
I'm needing a little help with my 500 amp DCX contoller. I have 2003 CC DS IQ cart "Pathway". I'm in the process of replacing the factory "Curtis" controller mod. 1510-5201 with a Alltrax 500 amp DCX controller. On the Curtis controller there is a 4 prong plug in the upper left corner of the controller, I'm not sure where it goes on the Alltrax controller. I tryed to contact Alltrax and they are closed till Monday. Can anybody help me with this. Thanks, Greg

Re: Need a little help with Alltrax controller
You should have gotten the 'mini-manual' with your alltrax controller? The manual explains where the connections should be made. Also, on the alltrax website, go to document depot and look at the install diagram for that unit. Let us know if you need more help than that.

Re: Need a little help with Alltrax controller
Thanks ScottyB for the info. I have the mini-manual and the quick installation guide. When taking out the old curtis controller I'm paying close attention where all the wires came off of the controller. All the wires will plug back into the Alltrax controller except for the 4 wire plug that came out of the upper left hand corner of the curtis controller. Those are the wires in question. I just can't figure out what to do with them. Thanks, Greg

Re: Need a little help with Alltrax controller
The connector you reference is not used on the Alltrax, tie it up and out of the way. That connector goes to the front of the cart under the f/r switch and is what is used to plug in the Club Car programmer port to the factory controller.

Re: Need a little help with Alltrax controller
I got the DCX Alltrax controller and 2 gauge cables installed today. I went for a test run and something is not right. I just about have to press the accelerator peddle 3/4 away down before it would move. I have to floor it in reverse to get it to move. I have a sold green light on the controller. After running it a little and stop, it want move at all when trying to start back off. I can flip it to reverse and back to forward again it will move. I guess its like I'm only getting about a 1/4 of acceleration or less. What do I need to check for or do?

Re: Need a little help with Alltrax controller
I have the software to hook the controller up but I can only hook it up with my home computer. My lap top is a mac. I am going to get a buddy of mine and bring his lap top over tomarrow and see what kind of readings I'll get then. I didn't see the throttle cable you was talking about, my cart has a rod that runs into a black box on side of the rails with electrical wires coming out. That four wire plug that was hooked up to the curtis controller that I didn't hook up to the Alltrax controller cause I didn't see where it would go have anything to do with my problem? I notice my speedometer doesn't work anymore also. I have took a few pics of my throttle box and controller if it would help.

Re: Need a little help with Alltrax controller
The black box is the MCOR (motor controller unit) i.e. the throttle box. I never mentioned anything about a cable. There are two prongs on the shaft that go to the MCOR. One prong goes in front of the pedal, and the other behind. If you look down the back of the pedal you can see the top prong, if there is no slop it should be very tight against the pedal, if there is slop the pedal will move a bit before engaging the prong to move the shaft.
This wear is caused by the prongs spreading as well the entire assembly below that allows the entire assembly to rotate. It has brass bushings which wear out. If the wear isn't too bad, you can temporarily take out the slack with a zip tie or something around the top prong between the pedal. |
